It can be said that dancing your heart out makes everything feel ok again—makes a breathing space. I welcome all to join me in my Fall 2020 movement classes—for all those who have attended my last sessions and all new participants who want to explore the freedom of movement. Take this opportunity to pause from the stress of what we face, day to day, reconnect with yourself and discover your own enlivened movement. Whether you participate on your feet, from the floor or in a chair, these unique classes bring the taste of resiliency, a mental and physical reset. Everyone is welcome—for those who are well and those who are healing.

A contemplative floor based movement exploration. Sometimes I refer to this work as Inner Movement Research. It’s a chance to settle into the floor, and ones body, through the feeling of what the body wants to do, rather than what one should do. BodyListening requires no special training or equipment. It doesn’t ask you to abandon the body you have for some one else’s idea of how you should look. BodyListening is an invitation to inhabit the body you live in, and discover what unfolds from this awareness. It can be done by everyone, regardless of level of health or movement experience. If one is unwell, a bed or chair is a good place to start.
BodyListening has been called a body-friendly way to explore free movement. To Read More
LIBERA is an opportunity to explore the call of the heart. Let the Love we long for guide our exploration. Allow creativity to speak through the instrument of motion. Find your own play of rhythm and melody. World music, devotion, emotion, expression of the unknown, moves into the voice of the soul through the expression of movement.
Letting go, moving through, finding space, opening up. These are phrases used to describe different states of awareness, as we enter the doorway to move freely. Guided by Zuleikha, participants learn to move through the maze of daily life’s situations, using what we might think of as stuck energy, or sadness or whatever it is that we bring to the class, into the place of open space within. Rumi says: There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground…
From time immemorial, dance has been a container for the expression of the sacred. Zuleikha comes from a background of exploration based in the spiritual expression of the heart and soul. Having spent her life with teachers from sacred and artistic lineages, Zuleikha brings these practices into the exploration of body, heart and soul.
There is a sacred thread that goes through all of life. DANCING THE SACRED is an exploration of this thread, into the felt sense of embodiment. Drawing on mystical poetry and sacred text, these sessions invite the practice of the expression of the heart.
